Zarif: The reason for the failure of the negotiations was the U.S. attempt to dictate terms

Mohammad Javad Zarif, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and founder of Paiab, reacted to remarks made by the U.S. Vice President at the conclusion of last night’s negotiations, writing:

Want to know why negotiations did not succeed?

JD Vance: “They have chosen not to accept our terms.”

Bingo.

No negotiations – at least with Iran- will succeed based on “our/your terms”

The US must learn: you can’t dictate terms to Iran.
It is not too late to learn. Yet.

Iran and the United States began a new round of negotiations in Pakistan on April 11 (22 Farvardin). The talks, which lasted 24 hours, ended without reaching an agreement.

The United States and Israel launched what was described as a war of choice against Iran on February 27 . This war, which resulted in the deaths of senior officials and many ordinary civilians, led to a two-week ceasefire on Wednesday, April 8. It was agreed that the two sides would attempt to reach agreement within two weeks on the issues over which they have differences.
