Javad Zarif on Iran’s Future

How damaged is Iran after its short-lived war with Israel? With so many of its proxies devastated, what alliances will Iran seek?

Mohammad Javad Zarif has been at the center of Iranian politics for much of the last 15 years, often as a reforming voice. He represented Iran in the nuclear agreement signed by U.S. President Barack Obama and has navigated the subsequent American whiplash, first as Iran’s foreign minister and recently as vice president for strategic affairs. Zarif joined FP Live’s Ravi Agrawal to discuss Iran’s role in the Middle East and its relationship with the United States.
